Frank Mattern, MBA
Frankfurt's finance and technology expert Frank Mattern (46) leads the German office of the international management consultancy McKinsey & Company since January 2007. With eight locations in Germany and Austria, McKinsey's German office complex is the largest of the 83 offices McKinsey operates around the world.
Born in Krefeld, Frank Mattern has authored several books on business and finance topics. He is married and the father of three children.

Dr. Joachim Faber
Joachim Faber is CEO of Allianz Global Investors and a member of the management board of Allianz SE, Munich. Mr. Faber lead the build-up of asset management as Allianz‘s third core business. Allianz created a leading global asset manager through a series of acquisitions, including Pimco, Nicholas Applegate and RCM, as well as the integration of Dresdner Bank’s asset management activities.
Mr. Faber graduated from the University of Bonn with a degree in law. He received his PhD degree from the Postgraduate School of Public Administration in Speyer, Germany, after completing his research at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

Frank Kochendoerfer, PhD
Frank Kochendoerfer is the IBU Chemicals Director at SAP Labs. Prior to joining SAP, Mr. Kochendoerfer held positions as a Product Manager in Tokyo, Japan and as Division Manager NAFTA for a large global specialty chemicals company.
He holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bonn, Germany. Frank's main role is in providing solutions for chemical companies using the SAP Business Suite, with particular focus on solutions for regulatory compliance and chemical midmarket companies.

Christian Schmiederer, MBA
Christian Schmiderer is a Managing Director at J.P.Morgan and has been responsible for covering clients in Germany and Austria since 2001. He joined J.P.Morgan in London in 1994 focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions in the European Financial Institutions Group. Prior to J.P.Morgan, Christian Schmiderer worked as an Associate Consultant at Oliver Wyman from 1992 to 1994.
Christian Schmiderer graduated from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1992.

Dr. Marcus C. Schmidt
Dr. Schmidt heads the US Offices of Invest in Germany, Germany’s official Investment Promotion Agency. He joined Invest in Germany in 2007 after its merger with the Industrial Investment Council (IIC) where Dr. Schmidt headed its US Operations and oversaw the Berlin, Germany-based Technology & Services group.
Dr. Schmidt has worked with industry leaders such as Dell, Oracle, Intel and Vestas and initiated the creation of a Renewable Energy Practice as part of the Technology & Services group.
He began his tenure at the IIC as a Project Manager in the services field and later focused on manufacturing projects as a Senior Project Manager. Prior to joining the IIC, Dr Schmidt served in various legal positions in Germany and Japan.
He received his Master degree in law from the University of Muenster, a Ph.D. in law from the University of Innsbruck, and a MBA in International Industrial Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen, Germany.

Professor Saikat Chaudhuri
Saikat Chaudhuri is Assistant Professor of Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He received his BSE and BS from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, his MSE from Stanford University in 1998 and his DBA from Harvard University in 2004. His research interests include technological innovation, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational adaptation.
Dr. Chaudhuri has consulted for a range of technology-based companies on acquisition and other corporate growth strategies, such as TranSwitch, Diamond-Cluster, and the startup Vox Populi, and has advised the Indian government on IT-based economic development opportunities. Recent publications include the journal article “Integrating Acquired Capabilities: When Structural Integration is (Un)Necessary,” forthcoming in Organization Science, and the book chapter “Managing Human Resources to Capture Capabilities: Case Studies in High-Technology Acquisitions,” in Managing Culture and Human Resources in Mergers and Acquisitions edited by G. Stahl and M. Mendenhall and published by Stanford University Press in 2005. His first article on the subject, “Capturing the Real Value in High-Tech Acquisitions,” which appeared in the Harvard Business Review in 1999, continues to be widely used in business schools and amongst corporate managers.

Dr. Martin C. Huber
Dr. Martin Huber is a senior partner, working in McKinsey's Cologne office. Since joining the firm in 1996 he has been working for several international clients in the financial services industry with a special focus on asset management. Beside his client activities, Dr. Martin Huber is a leader of McKinsey's global Asset Management practice and leads the recruiting efforts of McKinsey in Germany.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Dr. Martin Huber, a native Austrian, worked in the institute for Civil and Corporate Law at the University of Economics in Vienna. He received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Economics in Vienna, holds a Master and Doctorate degree in Law from the University of Vienna as well as a Master of Law from the University of Chicago.

Heiko Thieme has served as
Chairman of American Heritage Management Corp., an investment advisory
firm, since 1990, as well as President of Thieme Consulting and Thieme
Securities in New York City. His monthly “The Viewpoint” (“Der
Standpunkt”), an English-German Wall Street strategy publication,
provides analysis of financial markets. Mr. Heiko Thieme also wrote for
the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for 17 years, and was an adjunct
